Captain Val – 50s female
Val is the founder and leader of Val’s Handy Helpers, a crew of people who fly around the solar system doing odd jobs. Originally from an oppressive mining colony, Val escaped and built her own way in the galaxy. Val is decisive and used to being in charge. She deeply cares for the strays (human and otherwise) she gathers but never says it.
Tio – any age, any gender
Tio is an alien! He is surprisingly child-like, but extremely brave and always learning new things. He is determined to meet as many people as possible, despite needing to hide the fact that he’s an alien.
Sonia – 20s female
Full of empathy and anxiety, Sonia mostly joined Val’s Handy Helpers so she could travel the system setting up her spirit shrines. Sonia also reads tarot, but she hasn’t quite figured out how to tell people what they want to hear instead of the truth.
Brooks – 50s male
Val’s ex-husband from a mining colony. Beat down by life, perpetually angry and still in love with Val. Not sure what he wants from life.
Granny – 80s female
Granny is Val’s Handy Helpers best and oldest client. A little kooky and too rich for anyone to mind. She’s had a thousand hobbies, thrived as a socialite, and is now lonely and very set in her ways.
